Features：Jaws is a red-shifted cruxhalorhodopsin derived from Haloarcula salinarum.It is maximally excited by 632 nm light.Red light causes chloride ions to flow in, which inhibits neuronal activity. Compared with eHpHR3.0 or ArchT,  Jaws provides more efficient hyperpolarization through red light gated chloride ion conduction resulting in greater current.
