Features:The mGRASP system splits GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein) into two components, and each separated GFP component does not possess fluorescence functionality on its own. When the two components of GFP are expressed in different groups of neurons, they automatically bind at synaptic sites to form a complete and functional GFP. When there are synaptic connections between these two groups of neurons, the synaptic structure emits green fluorescence.
