Stress-related disorders and other mental illnesses caused by fear memories have a huge impact. Neurons have been the focus and hotspot of brain-related research for a long time. However, as the most numerous, widely distributed, and largest type of cells in the central nervous system, how do astrocytes perform normal physiological functions? How do astrocytes function abnormally? How it causes or affects brain disease, particularly its role in the formation of fear-related memories, is unclear. The R&D team transformed the neurotropic tool virus so that the gene carrying the magnetic resonance visible probe (AQP1) was expressed on the rAAV2/PHP.eb virus, which can efficiently pass through the blood-brain barrier, and was injected into mice through tail vein injection, achieving the purpose of in vivo detection of whole-brain astrocytes. At present, this tool has been successfully used in nearly ten domestic scientific and educational institutions for fear-related memory, specific brain functions and abnormal conditions, and screening of astrocyte abnormalities in specific brain areas. It has promoted the development of the National Brain Project and has good scientific research and social value.
